China Looks to Internet+ Model to Transform Healthcare Services
12 June 2018
In a bid to bring the management of the country’s medical and healthcare sector into the digital age, the State Council recently issued its Opinions on Promoting the Development of Internet+ Healthcare. In addition to calling for the wider application of Big Data within the healthcare sector, the Council also identified three particular priorities:
Establishing a Robust Internet+ Healthcare Service System:
In particular, this will involve the innovative use of Internet+ to optimise the services provided by family doctors and to ensure the availability and delivery of required medication.
Optimising the Internet+ Healthcare Support System
This will entail utilising Internet+ to accelerate the wider sharing of healthcare data, while also seeking to raise overall healthcare standards, improve hospital management and maximise the ease of access to any required services.
Using Internet+ to Reinforce Regulatory and Security Regimes
In particular, this will see the strengths of Internet+ leveraged upon to ensure stricter quality control in the provision of all medical services, as well as to guarantee greater data security.
