CPSC Recalls Various Products Made in Mainland China

The CPSC has announced the following recalls of products made in mainland China.
The Jewelry Channel, doing business as Shop LC, has recalled about 1,650 electric blankets because their heating coils can overheat and pose fire and burn hazards. The recall involves heated micro plush flannel sherpa throw blankets sold in grey, blue, beige, red or brown. The blankets measure about 50 by 60 inches and “Homesmart” can be found on a label on the sherpa side. All blankets with date code 22217 and model number OB205B2 are included in the recall. These blankets were sold exclusively at Shop LC television networks airing on various channels, as well as on-line at www.shoplc.com, from November 2017 through January 2018.
H-E-B Grocery Company LLC is recalling some 2.5 million halogen light bulbs because they can shatter while in use in a lamp or light fixture, posing laceration and fire hazards to consumers. This recall involves GTC halogen light bulbs sold in packages of two or four bulbs. The packages were sold in 25 watt, 40 watt, 60 watt, 75 watt or 100 watt bulb varieties in either clear or soft white colours. The bulbs measure approximately 4.5 inches in length and 2.375 inches in diameter. The top of the bulb reads “GTC” and includes the wattage and lumens values. The bulbs are packaged in blue and red cardboard boxes that read “GTC NATURAL LIGHT” across the top, along with the wattage and colour of the bulb. These light bulbs were sold at H-E-B stores in Texas and on-line at www.heb.com from August 2015 to December 2017.
Primo Water Operations Inc. has issued a recall for about 11,000 water dispensers because hot water can drip from the machine when it is used in high altitude areas over 6,000 feet in elevation, posing a burn hazard to users. This recall involves Primo hTrio multi-purpose beverage dispensers purchased on or before 31 December 2017. These products provide both hot and cold water and brew six, eight and ten ounce hot beverages. Model number 601225, 601229 or 601240 is printed on the bottom of the product and Primo is printed on the front. These products were sold at Sam’s Club stores and on-line at Amazon.com and Wayfair.com from January through December 2017.
3M Company has announced a recall of some 395,000 thermal laminators in the United States as well as about 130 thermal laminators in Canada because the product’s plastic enclosure can overheat, posing a burn hazard. This recall involves Scotch thermal laminators used to laminate documents such as artwork and photos. The laminators are white with teal accents, measure 14 inches by 3.8 inches by 2.75 inches, and have “Scotch” printed on the front and model number TL901C printed on a sticker on the bottom. Only laminators with model number TL901C and teal accents are included in the recall. These products were sold at J.C. Riollano and Sam’s Club stores in Puerto Rico, as well as on-line at Amazon.com, from July 2015 through March 2018.
Vornado Air LLC has recalled about 350,000 electric space heaters because they can overheat when in use, posing fire and burn hazards. This recall involves Vornado VH101 Personal Vortex electric space heaters sold in black, coral orange, greyed jade, cinnamon, fig, ice white and red. The heaters measure about 7.2 inches long by 7.8 inches wide by 7.10 inches high and have two heat settings (low and high) and a fan only/no heat setting. “Vornado” with a “V” behind it is printed on the front of the unit. The model/type (VH101), serial number and ETL mark are printed on a silver rating label on the bottom of the unit. These products were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot, Menards, Orchard Supply, Target and other stores nationwide, as well as on-line at Amazon.com, Target.com, Vornado.com and other websites, from August 2009 through March 2018.
Toy Hats and Flashlights
Spirit Halloween has recalled about 20,000 toy hats and flashlights in the United States and approximately 1,500 toy hats and flashlights in Canada because the batteries in the flashlight can overheat, causing it to become hot and posing burn and fire hazards. This recall involves the Nickelodeon PAW PATROL Deluxe Marshall hat sold with an accessory flashlight. The hats are red with a yellow ribbon, black and white spotted dog ears, and a black flashlight attached to the side of the hat. The flashlight is included with the hat and they share the SKU number. Only flashlights with SKU 01292093 and date codes 1703RY01, 1603RY01 or 1503RY01 are involved in this recall. The SKU number and date codes are on the sewn in label under the ear on the hat. These products were sold at Spirit Halloween stores nationwide from September 2015 through November 2017.
Power Bank Stations
Mizco International has issued a recall for approximately 6,000 power bank stations because they can overheat when being charged, posing fire and burn hazards. This recall involves Re-fuel by Digipower Grab and Go Family Pack portable power bank charging stations. The power bank charger is a self-contained energy source used to charge cell phones and other devices when an electrical outlet is not available. The unit consists of three (black, grey and green) 2600 mAh re-chargeable lithium-ion battery chargers that sit on a recharging docking station. Each power bank is oval in shape and measures approximately 3.75 inches long by 1.25 inches high by 0.75 inches wide. “re-fuel by DIGIPOWER” is printed on each power bank and item number RF-TRIP is printed on the bottom of the charging station. These products were sold exclusively at The Container Store stores nationwide from October 2017 through February 2018.
