Synchronising Expectations: Economic Policy Reform in China – a US Insider’s View after Trump’s Visit
Prospects in China-US trade will be spotlighted at this Hong Kong seminar.
27 November 2017
WHAT: This seminar will offer insights into Sino-US relations in the wake of President Donald Trump’s recent “state-plus” visit to China.
WHEN: 14 December 2017 (Thursday), 12:30-2pm
WHO: Daniel Rosen, founding partner of the Rhodium Group, will be the featured speaker. From 2000-2001, Mr Rosen was Senior Adviser for International Economic Policy at the White House National Economic Council and National Security Council. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and board member of the National Committee on US-China Relations.
Mr Rosen has more than two decades of experience analysing the Chinese economy, corporate sector and US-China economic and commercial relations. He is affiliated with several American think-tank groups focused on international economics, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University.
WHY: China’s economic reforms weigh heavily on business and policy decisions, but there is little consensus on its pace and direction. The session will examine the Rhodium Group’s approach to building common ground with regard to China’s implementation of its economic reforms, and discuss the current state of Sino-US relations, following President Trump’s recent state visit to China.
WHERE: HKTDC SME Centre, Ground Level, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 1 Expo Drive, Wan Chai, Hong Kong
