Mission to Myanmar
Hong Kong manufacturers explore opportunities to establish production bases in Asia’s “last frontier.”

WHAT: Riding on the success of previous missions since 2012, the latest Hong Kong business mission to Myanmar will further explore the feasibility of production relocation in Yangon and beyond.
WHEN: 23-27 March 2015
WHO: A Hong Kong delegation will visit industrial parks and factories in the Yangon and Bago regions, with the latter being an up-and-coming industrial hub alongside Yangon region.
WHY: Myanmar’s economic reforms have attracted foreign investment including in manufacturing.
Apart from market briefings and factory visits, delegates will tour the Myanmar International Terminal Thilawa and Myanmar Industrial Port, to assess the capacity of the country’s logistics support services for manufacturers.
The delegation will also visit the Myanmar government’s One-stop Service Centre for Investment, which provides consultation and advice to foreign and domestic investors. The centre also offers services to help businesses with company registrations and investment proposals.
